For example, here is a gallery of free paisley patterns and scrapbook page layout sketches. They’re not really my style, but are a good example of the type of resources available to us scrappers.

If only I had time to try them all out!

First learn the rules - then decide when to break them.

Rule:
If you have a busy photograph, with a lot of colors - don’t use busy background papers.

Stamping Layouts

Well before I started scrapbooking, I got into rubber stamps.  Even though I see more and more scrappers taking their collections of rubber stamps to crops, I still haven’t taken the plunge into using stamps on my layouts.

If you’re like me - I need some inspiration on how to use my old supplies in new ways.  Check out some Stamping Layouts that showcase how to use your rubber stamps for more than just titles.

Maybe the next time I have some time to play, I’ll open up that big drawer of stamps and try to use them.

Dad as a Boy

Father’s day layouts, and masculine layouts in general, are tough for me.

Maybe it’s because I have a stash of pink and purple paper that’s large enough to complete about 42 little girl albums?

I came across this layout of “Dad as a Boy” and thought it was a great way to get over the mental block when it comes to creating a layout.

School Scrapbook Layouts - Layout 13 School Words Layout II

Materials used: Dymo label maker and cardstock from The Paper Loft. Tip from Jennifer: Cut 3/8" strips and run them through your label maker. Use sand paper to lightly sand the surface of the embossed words and the white words will show up. Note - You have to use colored cardstock with a white back, for example The Paper Loft cardstock works perfectly.
